Suction Vent/Valve – (For use priming Check
Valve Strainers)
Aluminum Coupling - designed to be connected between
the large intake on the engine pump and the suction hose. Vent port
uses a 1 ½" x ¼ turn ball valve. To Use:
1 - Connect to intake with hose attached to Dry Hydrant. 2 - Open
¼ turn vent valve. 3 - Open tank to pump valve. 4 –
Water will flow from onboard tank, filling up dry pipe as air escapes
through the vent. When air turns to a solid stream of water, close
¼ turn ball valve. 5 - Close tank to pump valve. Pump should
start without pulling prime. If not, momentarily pull primer.
Assembly normally is made using long handle FNST x MNST thread,
however other configurations are available upon request.

Fistular Dry Hydrant Installation - "Patented"
–
The Swivel Kit is designed for special applications where the strainer
is not desired to be in the water all of the time. It works like
a giant suction straw. It rests in place until needed. To use, you
simply pivot the strainer end up, around and slide it gently into
the water. The device uses a 180 Deg Dry Hydrant Head but can use
a variety of strainers. The picture below shows a 6" Horizontal
Strainer.
The kit includes the Swivel and Pivot Device along with two Cradles.
Cradles are used to support the pipe and strainer in both the "at
rest" and "in use" positions. System as shown uses
one 20 ft section of 6” Schedule 40 PVC Pipe. Great for salt
water applications.

PVC/Flex Joint - Dry Hydrant Installation
Many applications call for the use of a flexible suction hose.
The one shown here is designed to glue into a 6" or larger PVC pipe.
The 3 ft. section comes complete with 6" PVC Straight Pipe Connections
on each end. The collars are the same as used on the suction hoses
and can be changed in the field if needed. The black helical hose
is translucent and water can be seen as drafting proceeds. This
device is great for salt-water applications and/or other needs where
strainer location or depth is a concern.

Mooring Buoys - Dry Hydrant Installation
Mooring buoys can be used for a variety of reasons. They are great
to indicate the end of a strainer in busy waterways or can be used
to support a suction hose or strainer when debris or silt is a concern.
It may also be used with the "PVC Flex Joint" to maintain
a constant suction depth for Dry Hydrant installations.
Buoys are hard skinned and almost indestructible. Buoys are made
from high-density polyethylene, filled with closed cell foam. White
with blue florescent stripe. Highly visible to navigation. All come
complete with 3 ft of heavy-duty 2" plastic chain. Available
in 12", 15" or 18" Diameters.
